Ceramic mold statue of Sphinx.
In Greek mythology, the sphinx was considered to be a woman. One sphinx was only considered to exist in Greek mythology; she was the daughter of Orthus, and either Echidna or Chimera. Apart from the human head and the body of the lion, she also had the wings of an eagle and the tail of a serpent.
This design of sphynx consider to be an emblem of Chios island, which remains till nowdays as a symbol of good luck.
This is an artwork inspired of ancient greek mythology. We make the prototype of this statue by clay and then we make the mold with plaster of paris. Afterwards we produce about 100 statues as collectible pieces.
The statues bisque fired on our kiln with woodfire on 900 celsus.
